The fact that this provocative study references my own Sex and Film (for the same publisher) is, I promise you, not a factor in my praising this intriguing and comprehensive volume. Lauren Rosewarne’s examination of the applications of sexuality and the erotic in modern screen and TV remakes is both illuminating and wide-ranging, taking on board a variety of themes which once would have been unheard of in mainstream culture. There is also a discussion of how notions of gender politics are sometimes used cynically to give a particular work a patina of modern relevance and significance. Rosewarne is Senior Lecturer in the School of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Melbourne, and is an experienced contributor to exegeses on the field of popular culture.

Sex and Sexuality in Modern Screen Remakes by Lauren Rosewarne is published by Palgrave Macmillan.
